Learn to say no

On many occasions, we don't know how to say no and succumb to a request; It is difficult to refuse, because if we do we feel selfish and we are afraid that the other person will be upset, criticize us and turn us aside, but sometimes we have to know how to say no to gain the respect of ourselves and those of us surround.

It is important to understand that the ability to say is not closely related to self-esteem, so that people who have low self-esteem and little self-confidence feel nervous about others and tend to accept requests.

Perhaps it is due to the education offered based on that you must be obedient and helpful, so your self-esteem may have come to depend on the things you do for other people. It is a vicious circle in which the people around you expect you to always fulfill their wishes.

Being unable to say that you cannot make yourself stressed, irritable and without energy, so you need to evaluate the situation twice before accepting.

Saying no to orders, suggestions, and statements that go against our own interests is essential to avoid being overwhelmed by others.

One must know how to maintain their autonomy and be assertive. That is, having the ability to express our opinions and attitudes in a way that manifests our interests, but without hurting others.

TIPS TO SAY NO
- Use simple answers, firmly and directly; Remember that you are not asking permission to say no. Do not make excuses and give your reasons for not accepting.

- Think about your free time, and after having done so, be able to say no with greater confidence.

- Do not compromise if you cannot, only do it if you agree with the request, or feel capable of doing so; You can suggest other alternatives, but in no case do you compromise, if you can't.

- Always remember that refusal is independent of rejection; If you reject the request, it does not mean that you do it with a person. There is as much right to say no as to ask for the favor.

- Do not feel guilty for saying no to your children, because they should hear that response from time to time so that they develop a sense of self-control and limits can be established.

- Be true to yourself about what you really want.

Keep in mind that expressing your own desires requires a first place; If you try to please everyone, you leave an open door for people to take advantage of you, although sometimes you must make certain concessions and accept, nothing happens for that.

  1. As stated by Stanford Medical, It's in fact the SINGLE reason this country's women live 10 years more and weigh on average 42 lbs lighter than us.

(And realistically, it is not about genetics or some secret diet and really, EVERYTHING related to "HOW" they are eating.)

P.S, What I said is "HOW", and not "WHAT"...
